Every company starts somewhere. Alchemy Works started in a pandemic — helping an industry find its way back to work, safely.
Chapter One

Hollywood gets back to work.

In 2020, when production shut down across the entertainment industry, Teresa Yslas Beardsley saw an opportunity in the chaos.
As Covid testing protocols emerged and productions began to reopen, she built a team of trained Covid Compliance Officers — part operations, part safety, part concierge — and deployed them across ad campaigns, photo shoots, awards shows, television series, and feature films.
The company was nimble, responsive, and built for a moment that no one else was fully prepared for. Within months, Safety Compliance Services was staffing productions across Los Angeles and New York, earning a reputation for reliable, professional, and genuinely caring compliance work.
What started as a response to a crisis became the foundation for something larger.

Chapter Two

The work expanded.

As productions returned to normal and the immediate crisis faded, Teresa and the SCS team made a choice: keep going.
The underlying problem — that organizations don't have the systems, training, and compliance infrastructure they need — wasn't a pandemic invention. It was everywhere.
Safety Compliance Services grew into a full-service firm: performance-based training programs, independent compliance advisory, fractional risk management, and programming for live events, municipalities, and beyond.
The team expanded. The expertise deepened. The certifications followed — WBENC, WOSB, US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, BBB. Press features in Newsweek, MarketWatch, and CEO Weekly.
The work was real. The impact was measurable. And it was clear there was more to build.
2025: A new chapter

Chapter Three: Alchemy Works.

Safety Compliance Services was built around a specific expertise at a specific moment. Alchemy Works is built for what comes next.
The new brand reflects a broader mission: helping small and medium businesses build the operational foundation that makes everything else possible. Not just safety. Not just compliance. But the whole system — operations, training, onboarding, safety, compliance, and the pathway to government contracts.
The name reflects the work: taking the raw materials of a business — its people, its processes, its knowledge, its ambition — and transforming them into something that performs.
We are still the same team, doing the same work, with the same care. We just have a bigger vision for what that work can accomplish.

Teresa is an operations leader with over 15 years of experience in live events, media, and technology industries. She has managed complex logistics and regulatory demands for high-profile productions and multi-layered teams, bringing clarity and structure to fast-moving environments.
She serves on the board of the Event Safety Alliance and is a member of the Behind the Scenes Foundation's Steering Committee and Career Transition Task Force. A parent and mindfulness practitioner, Teresa is committed to building systems that support both performance and well-being.
As a Latina entrepreneur, Teresa brings a personal understanding of what it means to build something from the ground up — and a deep commitment to opening doors for the businesses and communities she serves.
