Basic Life Support (BLS) training designed for healthcare professionals and response-oriented roles requiring high-quality CPR and AED competency.
Course Description
Cardiac and Respiratory incidents can occur at any time and to anybody, regardless of age or health status. This course prepares participants to recognize life-threatening emergencies, deliver high-quality CPR, use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and perform effective team-based resuscitation. Certification requires successful completion of cognitive learning and a hands-on skills evaluation.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize cardiac arrest and respiratory emergencies
- Perform high-quality adult, child, and infant CPR
- Deliver effective ventilations
- Operate an AED safely and efficiently
- Respond to choking emergencies
- Function effectively during multi-rescuer events
Compliance and Certification Requirements
Successful participants receive an American Heart Association BLS Provider completion card following skills verification.
