Course Description
Workers face diverse slips, trips, and fall hazards in assorted diverse environments, such as construction sites, street work, ad hoc installations, shops, and other facilities. This Slips, Trips, and Falls Training course provides practical strategies to recognize and address these hazards in real-time. With a focus on real-world scenarios, participants will learn to recognize potential dangers in both outdoor and indoor settings, including wet surfaces, uneven terrain, and cluttered workspaces. By the end of the training, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to minimize risks, protect themselves and their coworkers, and create a safer working environment overall.
Learning Objectives
- Identify Common Hazards: Recognize the key slip, trip, and fall hazards in work environments, including uneven surfaces, wet conditions, obstacles, and inclement weather.
- Implement Preventative Measures: Understand and apply practical strategies for preventing slips, trips, and falls, such as maintaining clear work areas, using proper footwear, and ensuring proper lighting and signage.
- Adopt Safe Work Practices: Learn and practice safe techniques for walking, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering in hazardous conditions to reduce the risk of falling.
- Respond to Fall Incidents: Know how to respond effectively if a fall occurs, including performing basic first aid, assisting the injured worker, and reporting the incident appropriately.
- Promote Safety Awareness: Develop a safety-first mindset by understanding the importance of awareness, communication, and regular safety checks to create a culture of slip, trip, and fall prevention within the workplace.

This Slips, Trips, and Falls Training is an awareness course and includes the areas outlined in 29 CFR 1910.22 (Walking-Working Surfaces) and the General Duty Clause, as applicable. This course satisfies the regulatory requirement(s).
